My beloved Duro turns 4 this year and is the highest youngster and the highest horse I have ever sat on (circa +176cm), but it’s absolutely divine.
It’s our second full mounting ever. I am so grateful and so delighted it’s so easy and light. The right time has come, we were waiting for a very long time for Duro to physically mature enough for this step and our waiting as always paid off big time.
Duro felt today physically and mentally ready for this step. We still have 2 more years to go before we will start to ride Duro, to allow his spine to fossilise and Duro’s body awareness fully fill in every single cell of his rapidly growing body, and we do not intend to make it any quicker.
But it’s such a great joy for us both today to look at things from the new “perspective”.
