Welcome to OneHorseLife

OneHorseLife offers a different way of understanding relaxation, movement, training, and the relationship between horse and human.

It was created for people who look at a horse and feel that there must be another way — a way in which horses do not have to live in tension, move with restriction, or perform through pressure.

It is for horse owners, riders, trainers, therapists, and equestrian professionals who want to understand their horses more deeply and help them develop in a way that feels natural, healthy, and sustainable.

We believe that a horse can be powerful without being tense.

A horse can be deeply relaxed without becoming passive.

A horse can perform at a high level while remaining soft, responsive, and connected.

Training does not have to make the horse smaller, tighter, or less expressive.

The communication between horse and human can become clear, precise, and deeply connected — not because the horse is controlled, but because both bodies learn to understand and respond to each other.

This is what OneHorseLife is about.

For us, relaxation is not the opposite of performance.

It is what makes real performance possible.

Why OneHorseLife exists

Many traditional training systems focus on asking the horse to do more: move more, engage more, try harder, and perform better. Yet every physical effort and every mental demand creates tension — and not all of that tension disappears when the exercise ends.

Over time, unresolved tension can become part of the horse’s movement, posture, behaviour, and emotional responses. The horse may gradually become stiffer, heavier, more anxious, resistant, or less expressive — not because he lacks ability, but because his body is carrying more tension than it can naturally release.

OneHorseLife was created to change this. Instead of adding more pressure, we teach horses and humans how to recognise, release, and transform tension at its source — so the horse can move with greater freedom, confidence, softness, and power.

Our core discovery

The core discovery behind OneHorseLife, developed since 2014, is that horses can learn to relax consciously. Relaxation, in traditional pressure-release or so called natural systems, happens when the pressure disappears or when the work is over. Movement is conditioned with effort, and standing still with calmness. At OneHorseLife we discovered that Relaxation can become a skill the horse understands, chooses, and actively brings into the body without any stimulation from the outside, so no pressure is present.

A horse can learn to release unnecessary tension before, during, and after action — and remain relaxed within movement, contact, canter, collection, transitions, jumping, training, and performance.

We call this Performance Relaxation: a form of relaxation that supports action rather than replacing it.

The horse does not become passive or switch off. He becomes more focused, energetic, expressive, supple, connected, and physically available. He switches on — but without carrying the unnecessary tension that limits true athletic development, makes connection feel flat and unfulfilling, and over time causes injuries.

The OneHorseLife Training System brings together four major areas of work:

Conscious Relaxation

The horse learns to recognise tension in his own body and release it intentionally. This is not obedience, simple calmness, or making the horse appear quiet from the outside.

It is the horse developing a new internal response: I can let go. I can stay present. I can continue without carrying more tension than I need.

That changes everything — because relaxation is no longer something done to the horse. It becomes something the horse can actively choose and use himself, even when the human is not present near the horse.

Residual Tensions Release Therapy

RTRT is OneHorseLife’s deep, contact-based technique for releasing residual tension with the highly precise, highly specific action of the the bit. The bit becomes a precise bridge of connection between the trainer’s body and the horse’s body.

Through conscious, refined contact, the trainer learns to recognise residual tension, feel how it is held within the horse, take it on her body, and from there guide its release. This creates a completely different understanding of contact — one based not on submission, jaw flexions or simple yielding to the pressure, but the one deeply build on awareness, connection, and release.

The goal is not to make the horse give in.

The goal is to help the horse let go.

Tendon-Based Movement

Tendon-Based Movement is the OneHorseLife approach to developing the horse as an elastic, energy-recycling body. The horse is not simply a muscular engine. His body is an interconnected elastic system designed to store, transfer, and return energy through the entire kinetic chain.

When unnecessary tension is released and the body becomes better organised, movement no longer has to be produced through constant muscular effort. The horse can use elasticity, timing, and natural recoil to create greater power with less strain.

The result is movement that feels lighter, springier, more expressive, efficient, and sustainable — while allowing the horse to remain joyful and free within athletic performance.

Anna's Riding Method

Anna’s Riding Method brings the full OneHorseLife philosophy into riding. It is a cue-less system in which the horse is not trained to react to a collection of artificial signals, but learns to understand the rider intuitively through relaxation, expanded body awareness, and emerging from that balance, natural biomechanics, contact, and movement that is completely effortless, yet expressive and light.

The rider learns how to communicate without disturbing the horse’s body — without blocking the back, overusing the hand, reducing the movement, or replacing true connection with constant correction. Every element of the rider’s position and movement becomes part of a two-way conversation.

The aim is not for the rider to control the horse from the outside, but for horse and rider to function together as one coordinated, connected system.

What makes OneHorseLife different?

OneHorseLife does not begin with the question:

How do we make the horse obey?

We begin with deeper questions:

What is the horse holding in the body? What is the horse protecting? What tension has become part of the movement? What is the rider adding into the horse’s system? What needs to be released before true performance can appear?

This changes everything.

Training becomes less about control and more about transformation.

The goal is not simply to manage behavior.

The goal is to change the internal response.

The goal is not to force movement.

The goal is to free movement.

The goal is not to make the horse smaller under the human.

The goal is to help the horse become more fully himself.

Who OneHorseLife is for

OneHorseLife is for people who are tired of surface-level solutions.

It is for you if:

  • your horse has more potential than current training reveals,
  • your horse is tense, anxious, stiff, blocked, heavy, resistant, or disconnected,
  • your horse improves for a while but old patterns return,
  • you want to understand the deeper cause of training problems,
  • you want relaxation that supports performance,
  • you want riding that supports the horse instead of blocking the horse,
  • you want a complete system, not random exercises,
  • you know your horse was never built to move small.

OneHorseLife is not for people looking for quick tricks, stronger control, or another set of mechanical cues.

It is for people who are ready to understand the horse differently.

Our invitation

If you are new here, you do not need to understand the whole system today.

You only need to take the right first step.

Maybe your horse needs Conscious Relaxation.
Maybe your horse needs RTRT.
Maybe your horse needs Tendon-Based Movement development.
Maybe your riding needs Anna’s Riding Method.
Maybe you need help deciding where to begin.

This is why we invite you to book a call.

Together, we can look at your horse, your goals, your current challenges, and the best next step.
