Some animals, for example dogs, are protecting their true selves from unwanted human impact by pretending to cooperate. Because they are always ready to do what we want and to obey, their inside is protected from humans and they can keep their purity and innocence intact even when they interact with the restless and unaware human nature.
Horses do not know how to do this at the beginning. By nature they are very pure and innocent and open to everything that comes to them. The goal of being with and training horses should be to join them in this purity and innocent being.
During the process of educating a young horse do not “teach” him how to pretend that he is cooperating with you. Do not teach how to obey.
Instead, observe your horse carefully and enter his world without fear.
