For last two years I have been speaking to my students about the importance of finding the horse’s natural balance and expanding it, and this year also about the importance of expanding the horse’s body awareness. The golden duo is, in my eyes, the ultimate foundation of collection, and when collection comes — and she comes like Spring: in her own time, in the best possible time, and when all the elements lied for her entrance are ready — all further dressage exercises are just there – simple like singing a song, happening naturally and totally effortlessly.
Today, Wiwien gifted us with the most incredible gift: coming out of early piaffer in the beautiful terre-à-terre.
Terre-à-terre is a classical dressage exercise of a two-beat canter in which the horse alternately passes forward a succession of small jumps. This air, having a little usage by itself, confirms collection and serves as preparatory exercise for all further school jumps, which just like terre-à-terre are executed in two stages.
I have no other words to invite to you have a look into our Natural Balance and Body Awareness for Horses Self Study Courses than to simply tell you that IT WORKS! and I am myself so surprised how soon, and how powerfully it works!
