On Monday and Tuesday I wrote to you about the RELAXATION OF THE JAW, and how it can be manifested in form of the white foam / white lipstick on the horse’s mouth.
In your comments you asked me many times if this can be achieved without a bit, and influence of the rider/trainer, and outside the training environment..
YES OF COURSE!!!
I have seen it many times during my liberty sessions with horses, when riding bitless and bridleless and when observing my horses playing on the paddock together showing off their balance and strength.
Today, Cour d’Alaine supported my desire to show you examples of the white foam happening naturally during our brushing for a photo session with Pola GaÅ‚czyÅ„ska:
As I brushed Cour, he beautifully started to Calm and I felt through his skin that suddenly became softer and allowing my hand more “into” the skin and muscles that his jaw must have started to relax..after few minutes I saw this: not as spectacular as during the ground work or riding (also bitless and bridleless!) but still: beautiful white lipstick. Without chewing (chewing is not a part of the process that causes it!) and licking!
Pure relaxation of the jaw and tongue.
