I am very happy to welcome this beautiful stallion to OHL gang for 2018. He arrived 2days ago & officially joins in for trainings & to move to the default home later on, but let’s see how our path develops… His journey with OneHorseLife will be well documented, so you can profit from it as well, as the square one of it is a quite interesting one…
To me this horse is a great example of many horses people find here in Portugal, and many other places in the world:
He has bright mind, he’s trying his heart off, but is lacking basic education in every possible field (groundwork-emotional openness to interact-riding). A great example of a horse who probably never has been led from his right side, doesn’t know how to be lounged, doesn’t know how to enter his natural rhythm, falls apart when trotting without side reins/bit from the ground…doesn’t know how to lengthen the frame from the saddle…doesn’t know how to move through the back… doesn’t know how to seek the bit and go onto the bit, and how to lengthen the steps without running.. doesn’t know that it is allowed to show affection and emotions… – the list can continue…
He has although one quality that makes it worth to put the effort and fill in the blanks: A HEART OF GOLD.
My student, after she saw him for the first time, told me: “He is very closed”, I replied: “I have never seen closed horses, but I have seen many closed people around them”.
I am curious and excited to be able to document his journey for YOU while training him, and therefore be able to support in a step-by-step manner all horse owners who just got their new horse or are reviewing now, with the start of the NEW YEAR their horsemanship, and realized how many “blanks” there are to be filled, and are wondering from where to start…
My answer is to start from CALMNESS.
I will be guiding FALCAO through my NEW PROGRAMS:
– Optimal Performance,
– Natural Balance of the Horse (Advanced Edition: riding),
– Balanced SEAT (for riders).
Today, Falcao experienced a really MAJOR UNSTRESSING after the morning training session run through Calmness, and some BodyMarc DUO therapy given in the box. We were surrounded with our other horses and dogs, and yet he still lied down… and then we started recording.
I think that something clicked in him, and some serious tiredness, even exhaustion is peeling off. I look forward to discover how much he really has to offer, when all the stress that inhibits his potential will peel off.
