Sometimes our heads are so full of thoughts that we don’t see what Life gives us.
When being with my horses and training them I never look for perfection. I never focus on the small things, on the details. Of course I have some criteria that I try to follow, but at the same time I have no visions of what to do and I try to stay as open as possible.
If you have in your mind a picture of “perfect piaffe” while training your horse, you may not be able to notice the whole range of wonderful paffer experiences your horse is trying to offer you. You are like a 30yo lady who has never been with a man, but is living a life filled with imaginations about “perfect first kiss”. And when the real first kiss comes she is too busy comparing it to the vision she had in her head and trying to change it to fit it into her picture, to be able to truly feel this kiss and appreciate it ;)
What I want to share here with you is a very special moment to me. Wiwien proposed canter half-passes for the very first time. I didn’t ask for it, and I have not expected it to come.
I just followed her and the moment in time when we were together.
What is important is just to be together and to help each other to understand who we really are.
