Listening to the student is the CORE base of being a good teacher. A good teacher doesn’t start from the place where she wants to start from. A good teacher doesn’t follow the plan she has in her head.
A good teacher meets the student where the student is at now, and supports the student using the teacher’s full awareness so that the student advances herself and takes the next steps on her path herself.
A good teacher never leads, as she doesn’t know where the student wants to truly be, a good teacher just supports. And this is enough.
This is enough for the teacher to be a great teacher, and for the student to learn and discover her path and where it leads her.
