Human body is so deep and so unexplored.
I had in my life many students who thought that for good riding and an independent seat they need strong abdominal and back muscles, and that they need to be able to have them flexed for long.
When they came under my wings we always had to reverse this mindset so popularized by the today’s training philosophies towards the new one:
You do not need more or stronger muscles to have an independent and beautiful seat ‼️ You need more awareness of the actual muscles that you already have.
And trust me, even if your belly is soft and round as the belly of Kung-Fu Panda. YOU HAVE MUSCLES! Without them you would just fall down and wouldn’t be able to walk or sit straight.
To have a beautiful seat you just have to be fully aware of these muscles. And this awareness always should lead you to ability to flex, and to – even more importantly – the ability to consciously relax certain muscles independently of flexing other ones.
