From my experience the first and very serious misconception when it comes to fear is that fear is something good and that it’s necessary to keep us alive. The second one is that we have to “fight the fear” otherwise we won’t progress.
To understand the true nature of fear versus fear thoughts you have to understand what the fear is. True fear is a basic animal instinct, it is a fear that for example a horse can feel when something suddenly moves in the bushes. It lasts for seconds, or even for a second, and it helps us and all animals to make decisions to run away from dangerous situations. Fear is a REAL TIME RESPONSE to a REAL LIFE SITUATION, and it finishes as soon as the situation finishes.
The second type of fear is something I call “fear thoughts” and it is something that only humans can experience. It is the sensation very similar to the real fear produced by thoughts to control you and to convince you that you need them to stay alive. This way your ego and your thoughts which want to exist, convince you that you very much need their constant presence to stay alive. This is like a disease, like illness. Like when the gems convince the organism that it cannot fight them, because they are part of the organism. This type of fear can last for many years or even for the whole life. And this is how the thoughts are controlling us by creating false picture of the reality in our head.

There will come a moment when you will see that you don’t have to fear and worry in your everyday Life. This way, by expanding your awareness, you will see that your fear is not real, that this is your thoughts taking to your thoughts, and you will see that fear is something different than being smart and not exposing yourself to eventual problems or situations that you won’t be able to cope with just now.
When your awareness expands and when you see the difference between the fear and the fear thoughts — you can let them go.
Do not try to fight the fear thoughts or force yourself through them. Just calmly observe yourself in your everyday Life and expand your awareness by seeing how fear thoughts are trying to control you by creating some false ideas of “safety” and how these thoughts are bringing to your life anger, impatience, stress, sadness, worry etc. Just remember that all of these is not existing. IT IS NOT REAL.
Stay calm and observe yourself in any given situation. Very soon you will see when you feel the real fear because your horse suddenly spooked, and when you will experience the fear thoughts standing by your horse’s side and watching him calmly yawn, and yet feeling “fear” resonating from the past.
And then you will be able to make a decision: whether you want to feel it or whether you don’t need it anymore. Not because you convinced yourself to do that, but because you your awareness expanded and you see the difference.
Thanks to expanding your awareness you will be able to decide where you want to be. The true changes can happen only thanks to expansion of the awareness.
