Every sport person knows the value of relaxation. Every professional althete knows AT LEAST one relaxation technique that is well implemented into his every-day trainings routine, and time of competition … I wonder WHY it is not a standard yet when it comes to training horses.
I love what one of our students told me recently:
“I have heard about the importance of relaxation many times already; I heard about it from friends, I read about it in equestrian books, and I heard it being mentioned by many trainers… but it’s YOU, Anna, who SHOWED ME HOW TO BE CALM when my horse spooks, misbehaves, and when everyone is tensed – you haven’t made me listen about Calmness, you made me experience it instead”.
This is such an important thought – you cannot make yourself CALM out of a sudden, but you can learn how to enter CALMNESS consciously. What is more, you cannot make your horse CALM, but you can teach him HOW TO CALM DOWN, and how to use this Calmness to enter his maximum performance…
…Just like all world’s top athletes do…
