What do you do when you accidentally take a hot glass in your hand?
You start shaking your hand.
It is a very well known fact, that when you shake your hand, the pain becomes lower. In other words, when you feel your hand shaking you feel less pain.
This mechanism is reflected in the anatomy of the body. We have different types of nerve fibers that transmit information to the spinal cord and the brain. We have large myelinated fibers which transmit information about location and movement. And we have small myelinated and unmyelinated fibers which transmit information related to pain.
Modern scientists agree that pain is not transmitted from the place where the accident happens to the brain. What really is transmitted is some information about heat, acid, pressure, etc. and the brain can change this information into pain, or can ignore it.
A simple experiment with shaking the hand that touched hot glass is showing how Awareness can lower the pain. All Awareness processes agree with anatomy and science. You can see that stimulating the touch (which is connected with Awareness) you can lower the pain.
How is it possible?
From the science perspective, you activate different information channels. From the Awareness perspective, pain is coming to help you expand your Awareness. When you follow the pain and expand Awareness, the pain is not needed anymore.
Pain is indicating that some areas of the body are abandoned, and they need Awareness. These areas do not have to be same areas where the pain is present. So, it is not enough to shake the burned hand. When you stop here, the pain will come back. The hand is only an entry point, which you can follow and find where your body needs your Awareness now.
