Today we had our second ride this year. It was also our second ride since the Summer holidays, and the first ride and our first meeting since my two-weeks break… and it was incredible. Simply incredible. I truly feel that now, when Cour turns 6yo in just 3 months he is FINALLY ready, physically and mentally, to be regularly ridden. And he loves it above everything else.
I love how Cour communicates, and how clearly he showed me today that he wishes us to start off immediately from riding and not from groundwork. And I loved to feel and see how he flowed knowing that I will listen…and how his flowing allowed me to flow with him. In love and Calmness.
Someone told me once that when you start a young horse under the saddle, you have to continue to ride him everyday or at least very regularly… I still remember how my heart shrunk when I heard it. When craftsmanship becomes more important than artistry, there is no soul in what we do and space for us to express ourselves to the fullness.
